Network Technician-Dekalb

Forge Resources Group is a leader in closed-die, near net metal forgings and fabricated assemblies serving diverse industries including aerospace, mining/drilling, railroad, ship building, off-road/ag and other heavy equipment manufacturers.

We are looking for a Network Technician at our DeKalb, IL corporate office.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION & SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Associate’s degree in Science, A+ Certification or related discipline
• Experience with Windows desktop operating systems
• Understanding of TCP/IP and troubleshooting Internet connectivity
• Experience with Remote Desktop Services
• Understanding of relationship between switches, firewalls, and connecting nodes to a network
• Working knowledge of wireless technologies

TYPICAL DUTIES:

The Network Technician will provide installation, maintenance and support service, and work with the Systems Administrator to discuss the need for network changes and the feasibility of projects recommended by network users.

• Evaluate applications and software patches for desktop applications to remedy desktop issues
• Assist users with software and PC issues
• Assist users with hardware- and network-related issues
• Continually improve network and user security
• Inspect LAN infrastructure and recommend solutions
• Maintain network documentation
• Escalate user issues as required
• Patching
• Manage printers
• Manage cameras
