Forge Press Operator-Rochelle

Forge Resources Group, a leader in custom short-run steel forgings, is searching for a 1st Shift Forge Press Operator at our Cardinal Forge location in Rochelle, IL.

Additional incentive pay of $3.00/hr. is available while performing production tasks.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED:

· Ability to read and understand Routing Sequence Detail Sheet

· Good written and verbal skills

· Skill in using measuring devices

· Demonstrated ability to produce high quality work

· Forklift experience

TYPICAL DUTIES:

· Set up of forge press, including die changes

· At beginning of each job, review Routing Sequence Detail Sheet for run quantity and
other requirements specific to this job

· Mixing and spraying die correctly

· Proper placement of heated billet or blocker forging into die

· Operate forge press according to all work and safety instructions

· Offload forged parts to appropriate tub or basket, move, or have moved full tubs/baskets
to proper area for next operation

· Produce product at or above efficiency and quality standards

· Properly document work completed on Routing Sequence Detail Sheet Monitor forge dies
for faults and defects

· Notify supervisor of any problems affecting production

· Maintain press and furnace area in a neat and orderly manner

· At specified intervals, measure forging from run and record measurement on
computerized data sheet to confirm parts are produced within specified tolerances

· Operate forklift as necessary

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Continuous standing

· Continuous tolerance of high heat environment

· Frequent unassisted lifting up to 50 lbs

· Frequent grasping and gripping with both hands

· Frequent leg and foot movements to depress foot controls

· Frequent pushing / pulling / twisting / turning with upper body while holding parts

· Occasional arm / shoulder swinging movement of sledgehammer weighing 12 lbs
