Quality Technician – Lansing, MI

Job Description

Forge Resources Group is a leader in closed-die, near-net metal forgings and fabricated assemblies serving diverse industries including aerospace, mining/drilling, railroad, shipbuilding, off-road/ag, and other heavy equipment manufacturers.

We are looking for a Quality Technician at our Lansing, MI facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs calibrations of various measurement tools to assure compliance withISO/AS certifications
  • Maintains the gage calibration system
  • Assists with hot inspection activities
  • Communicates issues with die shop, forge and inspection personnel regarding tooling or product
  • Operates magnaflux equipment to identify quality problems and coordinate corrective action with appropriate management personnel
  • Performs layout to include in the PPAP packages
  • Performs layout on parts returned by customer
  • Assists with the overall maintenance of the quality system
  • Completes all necessary paperwork
  • Maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience using basic metrology measurement and calibration equipment, including calipers
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints
  • Knowledge of the PPAP process and direct experience in creating documents associated with PPAP processes
  • Experience in managing customer relationships, responding to customer inquiries and initiating corrective action to resolve customer concerns
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook

Education:

  • Associates Degree in Engineering or related field preferred
  • High School Diploma required

Physical Requirements:

  • Continuous Standing Frequent unassisted lifting of up to 50 pounds
