Quality Manager – DeKalb

Forge Resources Group, a premier metal processing solutions provider, is looking for a Quality Assurance Manager at our DeKalb, IL facility.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain the overall quality management system for the plant

• Maintain compliance with the current registration requirements
• Maintain systems to provide reports on key indicators to the Operations Support Director, Corporate Quality Manager, and Plant Manager as they relate to Quality

Develop and lead continuous improvement efforts

• Initiatives to be developed through the use of data collection for quality objectives relating to the nonconforming product, customer feedback, audit results, SPC activities, vendor relations, and management review

Maintain plant document control

• Coordinate the review, approval, application, distribution, and disposition of documents to ensure the prevention of unintended use of obsolete documents

Establish and maintain an internal auditing schedule

• Establish metrics regarding audit findings

Lead plant-wide system for monitoring information related to customer perception

• Maintain complaint and corrective action system
• Coordinate analysis of data related to customer satisfaction
• Oversee RMA processes

Maintain Supplier Evaluation system

• Coordinate supplier survey and certification for new vendors
• Coordinate regular supplier evaluation for existing vendors
• Coordinate Supplier Corrective Action activities
• Communicate to all Production, Purchasing, Post-Forge, and Engineering staff information regarding verification of purchased product

Monitor and coordinate the completion of PPAPs per customer request

• Participate in necessary action for questionable PPAP results

Maintain plant system for corrective and preventive action

• Coordinate internal communication regarding product and process nonconformity
• Coordinate action and follow-up for nonconformity findings and ensure proper closure

Act as Management Representative for 2nd and 3rd party audits.

Education Requirements:

• Four-year degree in Engineering or Sciences, or two-year degree with applicable experience.

Qualifications for Quality Assurance Manager:

• Experience in AS registered environment preferred
• Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
• Capable of effectively presenting information to corporate officials and customers
• Mathematical skills that are compatible with quality measuring analysis concepts such as SPC, statistical distribution, dimensioning, frequency, etc.
• Above average computer skills, especially in the use of data collection and statistical software
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents as they relate to quality
