Production Planner – Dekalb

Forge Resources Group, a leader in custom forgings, is looking for a Production Planner at our DeKalb, IL corporate office. FRG produces steel solutions for a variety of industries through forging, hot forming, assembly, and fabrication.

The FRG team is continuing to grow, and we are seeking the next team member to help us support production activity. This is a full-time role on-site in our Dekalb facility, located 5 minutes north of route 88.

The Production Planner is responsible for managing the usage of resources to ensure optimal outputs to our customer base. This individual will provide prompt and organized data to support plant activity. Consistent communication with plants, vendors, and additional departments is expected. Forge Resources Group is seeking a driven individual who is looking to develop into this role.

Key Responsibilities:

· Order analyzation

· Manufacturing Order creation and oversight

· ERP/ MRP task functionality to support production needs

· Vendor Management

· Monthly shipping plan creation and management

· Consistent reporting to support interdepartmental requests

· Coordinating general production operation activity with material, plant activity and vendor requirements

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED:

· B.S. degree program in Supply Chain, Systems, Economics, Business Studies, or Industrial Management preferred

· Knowledge of material requirement planning (MRP)

· 2-3 years of systems planning or business software based role experience preferred

· Knowledge and understanding of basic cost accounting principles

· Strong user of Microsoft office programs

· Effective communicator – written and verbal

· Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and systems

· Effective negotiation skills required

· Organized and detail oriented

· Vendor management experience preferred

· Manufacturing plant experience such as general operations, shipping, production, quality, or similar experience preferred
