CNC Set-Up Operator

Forge Resources Group, a leader in custom forgings, is looking for a CNC Setup Operator at our Dekalb, IL location. FRG produces steel solutions for a variety of industries through forging, hot forming, and fabrication.

Key Responsibilities:

• Machine setup, start up, operation and tear down
• Secure all tooling, replace broken or worn tooling
• File, grind, and adjust parts to fit properly
• Diagnose operating difficulties and make adjustments
• Inspect dies for proper dimensions and defects
• Complete necessary job-related paperwork to include tags, inspection documents, and production log
• Maintain cleanliness, safety and quality standards

Experience and Skills Required:

• 3 years prior CNC Setup experience required
• Must be able to read and use calipers and similar measurement tools
• Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Experience in operating and setting up X, Y, Z on vertical mills required
• Must have basic shop math calculating ability (.01,.001,.0001)
• Possess basic understanding of cutting tools and their purposes
• Ability to use indicators to straighten parts/items
• Must work well in a team environment
• Ability to multitask
• Must be able to take direction
• Must be able to grasp and retain complex instructions
• Willingness to ask for clarification of instructions
• Reliability, punctuality, and attentiveness
• Attention to detail
• Forklift experience

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Vocational or technical training required

Physical Requirements:

• Requires walking, standing, stooping, crouching, bending, twisting, pulling, pushing
• Ability to lift up to 40lbs
